1991 Z8 Steering Wheel Swap to 87 style
Hello everyone!
I always liked the older style 3rd gen wheels and I want to swap my 91 airbag steering wheel for an 87 style wheel. Can I please have someone give me information on the things I need to know. Is it a direct swap? or do I have to customize anything? Will the horn operate correct? Hey I appreciate any help guys!
Thx Ken

Direct swap. Just be sure to remove the airbag fuse, disconnect the battery, and cut the Yellow airbag wire inside the column that you won't be reusing since you're going to a non-airbag wheel. You'll probably want to also pull the bulb for the airbag light that's inside the instrument cluster unless you want to stare at the airbag light all the time. Pretty sure the horn contact is different from the airbag wheel, so you'll need to splice/reuse the horn contacts from the '87 wheel.

Just checking to see if you managed this swap Kenny, and how it went?
