Manual Window handle
Manual Window handle
I’m new to this page and new to Camaros. Not sure how to use the search part on this page but can someone tell me how to take off the manual window handle. Trying to take off door panel.
Re: Manual Window handle
Well... There's a plastic washer between the crank and the door panel. Slip something between the crank and the washer, and push the washer/door panel away from the crank, and look at the back of the crank. You'll see a steel C clip around the splined shaft that retains the crank. The slots the clip rides in are parallel to the crank arm, the closed side of the C clip can be on either side of the crank. Grab a hook tool, slip it in the closed side of the C clip, and pull it out of the handle. The clip will fall out, might go flying, once it's off the crank pulls right off. To go back together, push the clip onto the window crank, push the crank onto the splined stub until you hear it snap in.

Re: Manual Window handle
Sweet thank you. I grabbed a side of a microfiber and put it in between the spacer and the handle with the handle facing upwards and slid the microfiber counter clockwise and the clip came off. I did the same thing to reattach it as well. My window was rattling and it seems the rubber on the track towards the front of the door was dry and rotted so I’m going on have to replace that rubber. Also adjusted the little brackets on top of the door that pushes on to the window. Anyone know a good website to purchase replacement window rubber?
