Good afternoon all, I'm swapping out my 89 steering column for the one out of my 84 and I've ran into an interesting little issue there's a part on my 89 column that I have no clue what it is and it's connected to the ignition/acc (?) Coupler. My only guess is part of the cruise control? I've posted an image with the critter circled. Any help would be great before I contnue with this venture.
That is an interlock that prevents the key from being removed unless the shifter is in park , and prevents the shifter from being pulled out of park with the ignition in the off position .

Thank you good sir! I was wondering what the heck it was (I was about to delete it and glad I didn't) all in all the swap was perfect success (especially after I figured out I needed to adjust the ignition/acc unit so the the key would actuate the starter 🤦♂️) thank you again for the help!
