Interior Upholstery Material
Had another thread related to this subject but the title was not adequate.
I am looking at these ACME upholstery kits that Rockauto and others have. I have a Tan (or Beechwood) interior color. Its an 88 GTA 350 Hardtop so not sure exactly if it was Tan or Beechwood. My factory seats are cloth but as I need to change the upholstery I would prefer switching to vinyl. I know there are leather options from other suppliers but I am looking at all options as the cost incl. shipping is going to be way high.
I just discovered there are two types of vinyl, namely Sierra Vinyl and Hampton Vinyl. From online color chart, the Sierra Vinyl 'Palomino' color (https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...87207&jsn=2218) looks quite right. The Hampton Vinyl is available in Saddle (https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...186&cc=1251481) which looks a bit too dark in my opinion.
Do you know which material would match the stock color most...? I think the Sierra Vinyl is not perforated in the middle also.

If your choices are between the Sierra and the saddle colors, then I would go with the Sierra. It all depends on what it is you are going for. If you want it to look"correct" or stock, I would go for cloth, personally. I really prefer leather over vinyl, as I live in a state (AZ) where you are going to get cooked on your seats. I would rather sweat on leather. You just can't beat the smell of leather.

Re: Interior Upholstery Material
The color choices are actually Palomino and Saddle. Sierra and Hampton are vinyl types with most probably different textures. I fully understand that leather feels and breathes better but its cost prohibitive for me as it is almost 3x as much...
The only problem I am seeing with the Sierra vinyl is that they don’t make perforated inserts. As for the rest it is even cheaper in price than Hampton.

I did that. They are extremely helpful. They already sent cloth samples a while ago but the color didn’t match mine so I decided to scrap the idea of fixing just the drivers seat and replace all of them work vinyl. Am waiting for hampton vinyl in saddle as it’s the only one with perforations. I was hoping someone already tried them and can chime in.

I had a hard time color matching too. Found that it was easier to pick a high grade vinyl and then color coat the seat trim which needed refreshing anyway. I used Hampton Saddle (HAP-6962) vinyl and a rattle can satin finish in Nutmeg from Rust-Oleum that matched my 91 nicely.
