Draft coming from door handle

Both my 84, and 89 have a draft that comes in the door handle. I thought that it was because the weather stripping on the door was cracked. However I just replaced the stripping on my 84, and it still does it.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you.

Re: Draft coming from door handle

which weatherstrip did you replace? the belt molding( aka Window sweep) at the top of the of the sheetmetal where it contacts the door or elsewhere? Do you have the watershield on the inside of the door still? Is the front edge of the door sticking out past the fender or does the fender stick out slightly farther then the door?

Re: Draft coming from door handle

Yes I replaced the top window sweeps, as the old one had big chunks missing, and was letting water and wind right in. The plastic sheet behind the door panel is there and intact. I taped it down in a few places where it had peeled away.

I don't know about the door fender alignment I will look soon as I have a chance.
The weather stripping that goes around the back and underneath seems to be in fair shape
