15th Anniversary help

Hi. This is my first post here and I hope some folks can enlighten me.

I'm considering buying a 15th anniversary Trans Am. It looks to be in very good condition and appears to be mostly original, but I have a question about the steering wheel and shifter.

The 'for sale' pictures show what seems to be a regular TA black steering wheel and black T-handle shifter (4 speed auto), but all of the photos I'm seeing online show the 15th ann. cars coming with a white steering wheel and white shift ****.

Should I be concerned that they were changed? Did some cars not come with the white steering wheel and shifter? The current owner says that he doesn't know much about the car and has owned it for a few years, bought it as is.

Everything else about the car looks to be legit.

Not an expert on those, but I’m pretty sure they all came with the white steering wheel and shifter. My guess is they were switched out over time, that white takes a beating with wear and tear I imagine. Does it have all the other 15th anniversary options like special “glove pouch”, seats, L69 engine etc.

From what I've been reading, everything else seems correct on the car: L69 engine w/ Ram Air (even though they didn't call it that then...weird), Recaro seats, 16" wheels, white w/ blue accents, etc...

I've been a Mopar guy most of my life, but I've always like Trans Ams...blame Smokey and the Bandit...and the '84 15 anniversary is a great looking car in my eyes. I just don't know much about them other than what I've read online. Hopefully going to check it out this weekend.

Re: 15th Anniversary help

Sounds like a plan, I would research the RPO codes specific to that car and check them against the SPID located in the center console glove box (if still there) and make sure its legit. My gut says it probably is but you never know what ppl may try to pull with special/anniversary cars. That ram air set up on those cars is cool, shame they didn't offer it past 84'.
