Is it possible to disassemble / reassemble front seat belts?
I have 2 sets of tan seat belts for a 1984 Trans Am. On one set, the belts are in good shape but the bottom plastics are really scratched up. The other set is opposite - the bottom plastics are in good shape but the belts are really faded. Is there a way to disassemble these and reassemble using the best parts to make one nice set? It looks like the bottom plastic trim is held on by a small rivet. If I drilled that out, I don’t see a way to remove the plastic from the belt retractor.

There is no way to remove the belt without having it re-sewn
