I rebuild dash buttons for 1982/83/84 Trans Am models. Complete set of 3, $325 shipped to anywhere in North America is currently available.
Also have an extra hatch release buttons for $115 shipped in North America. PayPal fees are up to the buyer.
Wish you had a longer history on the boards & some customer feedback.
I have some switches I’d like restored but don’t want to take the risk sending to you when you’re such a new member.

We all have to be new members at some point. I have a set of 3 ready to ship.

I recently purchased a Liftgate Release switch and was very pleased with the restoration of that switch. I am also sending the old switch back for a $30 rebate.

This guy is the real deal. I purchased a hatch release switch from him and it looked great. After I installed it I sent him my Hatch Release and Rear Defogger Switch cores and he promply paid me $30 each for the cores.

awesome! I have 2 cars worth of buttons that need restoring
Well I dont want to do that just for the lettering, I thought someone on this board was doing dry transfers for lettering that I could do myself without removing switch.
can you also restore the subwoofer switch for these year cars? i have one, but one of the buttons is broken and won't stay depressed when pushed in.
in the second picture below you can see through the "window" on the bottom of the switch that the upper catch on the right button is broken.

I understand, but we don't use decals. We actually manufacture actual buttons that will last. Stickers won't last unfortunately.

This one is a tough one. It could be done, but for the risk of something going wrong I would just get a replacement button that actually works.
I'm willing to try, but I can't assure it can be done properly.
I have to say I have also had my dash buttons replaced and he is really doing the 82-84 owners a great service. He may not have been on the forum long but I know him from other platforms that see a bit more traffic nowadays.
gotcha, how much just for the on & off button for a rear defrost switch? Ive had mine apart already and swapped over the rear defrost indicator to a fog light indicator & mounted it on the left side of steering column so I can tackle it myself.

Each button set is $100 for the labor alone. Shipping back and forth is up to the owner.
Just checking to see if the OP still restores these buttons.
I sent an email to the address mentioned in post #6 above but haven’t received a response yet.
It's been quite a while since I have communicated with him. If I remember correctly he never was quick on the response. Give him some more time to respond and hopefully he'll get back to you.
Thanks for the input. I have a couple defrost and hatch buttons that I would like to get restored.
Hello. I currently only have a rear wiper button ready to be shipped and have no cores to rebuild as clients chose to buy a rebuilt button but not send a core.
If you want any models rebuilt, it can be done, but these would have to be sent to me.
That client was probably me. I needed a defrost button for my 83 TA restoration project. I actually need another defrost button for my other 82 T/A, once I get one I’ll have it rebuilt too.
Panorama - I just checked and it looks like I sent an email to the same address you just reposted. I resent the email. Feel free to reply to my email or in this thread.
I have actual working buttons but they need to be restored as they are faded and the lettering has worn off. I would like to start with the three defrost buttons. I have two hatch release buttons that need to be restored as well but may need to have two seperate orders depending on how much this costs. They all have red illumination which is correct for my 1984 Trans Ams - not sure if that matters.
How does the process work? Do you charge a deposit and then I mail my buttons to you? Final payment due once the work is complete I assume. What is the estimated turnaround time?
Thank you.
I had Panorama restore the buttons for both my ‘84 TAs and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. He even worked with me to create a custom fuel door release button using an extra hatch release I had. Highly recommend!!
I bought a defrost button for my 83 a few months ago. it looks great. I need to get another one for my 82 T/A.
be careful when purchasing buttons for these early birds. the 82 and 83 defrost buttons had white backlighting while the 84 has reddish orange. if possible, get the seller to test them out before buying to make sure you get the correct lighting for your year car.

the fuel release is for my custom '84 TA. i plan to mount it in the dash to the left of the defrost button. i'll have to 3D print something to properly mount it and then cut a hole in the trim piece for the extra button.
the whole theme of my build is to create a TA with modern technology / components but make it look like it could've came that way from the factory originally. i think a lot of the modifications / customizations wouldn't be obvious to someone who isn't familiar with these cars.
I was just recommending the guy who did the restoration of my dash switches. I have a very difficult time navigating this 3rdGen site, but here is a link to one of his posts. Hope it helps. His user name is "Panorama" and he does excellent work.
