Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
Is Lethal Interiors a.k.a. “princess” still making seat covers for our cars?
They are/were highly recommended on these forums a few years ago. I want to get new genuine leather seat covers for my 1989 Trans Am GTA that I’m currently restoring.

She is still doing them far as I know, she did the covers in my GTA, genuine leather, they were not cheap, but the fit is amazing and the material is beyond what GM ever put in these cars. I had them installed by an upholstery shop as they had to rebuild all the worn foam, and they had zero issues with her covers and told me if they had to make them they would have charged me 2-3 times what I paid. The GTA seat covers take a her a while and she does every thing by hand. So if you want a set, you need to get in line, because she always has a long wait list. From paying a small deposit to getting the seat covers was 9 months for me, 6 months of that was just waiting for her to get to me then I paid her the remainder.

Seriously, what’s with the negative crap response from a long time member? Did a Mustang put the gap sauce on you this morning?
I did try to contact them at their email on Lethal Interiors “ramairtransam@live.com”, but my browser says it’s an “invalid email” and it won’t go through.

Neil, did they change their email address or something? When I tried to contact them through their email at Lethal Interiors “ramairtransam@live.com”, it didn’t go through. My browser just says “invalid email”.
How do the covers look compared to the original seat covers? Do they look the same? Also, if it’s not too much trouble to ask, do you have any pics of the GTA seats after you had them redone? Thanks.

This what I have for her from my Gmail, ramairtransam@live.com , the pattern and color is the exact same, just you can tell its better material than what these cars got from GM.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
Happy to report that Princess is alive and well, and her email hasn't changed. I just hit her up to make sure all was well, and she hit me right back. She's wild and crazy that way! So if someone's email was "returned to sender," then there must've been a typo or possibly a server error.
She's been working on a custom project for me for a long time, juggling mine in and out of all of yours, as well as all of the non-3rdgen "art" she creates for people. So we've had a long series of emails, and mine, just now, was a continuation of that series. She received it and replied, which verified that her email address is still good.
She's become sort of like a sister, except that I chat with her more than I do my real sister lol. But we hadn't exchanged for a couple of months, so this gave me an excuse to contact her. She said "HI" to everyone and Happy New Year!
As for her workload and availability, that's between y'all and her.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
Does anyone know the rough cost for front and rears? Debating getting a set to go leather in my GTA and then debating getting a backup set for my 4th gen to sit until they're needed.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
She is super busy and recovering from Covid I heard. I've been waiting for fabric samples for my GTA seats for weeks. I'm still hoping to get covers made this year.

Wow, they look beautiful. Thanks for the pics Neil!

I didn’t remember her email so I searched the archives which led me to “Lethal Interiors” webpage and then the “ramairtransam@live.com” gmail address link. When I tried it the first few times, it did not work. It still doesn’t work from the webpage link. When I click on the email address link “ramairtransam@live.com” on the webpage, my browser (Safari) says “Invalid Email”.
However, when I plugged the email address into my Yahoo.com email browser the next day just to check it again, it did work. So, like “LAFireboyd” stated, either I made a typo or the server was down. It still doesn’t work from the webpage though.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
Lethal Interiors “princess” responded back to me the next day. She told me May is now the current lead time for having leather seat covers made for my GTA. Just in case anyone was wondering.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
May isn't bad, if you're serious get in line as lead times can change. What she provides is the definition of a cottage industry, not major seat company turning out hundreds of sets. They're worth the wait. The upholsterer I used had zero issues installing them. I've had him do work for me on other stuff and he will tell me honestly the quality of work and if there are issues. I had him redo a head liner I got from Rock Auto because it sagged months after I got it, and he told me all the prep issues it had to cause it to fail that quick.

Mine were a few years ago, but they were cost wise on par with Katzkin and another company that did them for the TTA / Notch Back. Not cheap, but I went with real leather. She has other options, it's best to contact her, on some stuff she uses matches for the OEM material, so I imagine that can get pricey for the hard to find stuff.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
She just cancelled my order?? I paid a deposit last April, she told me she had too many orders she has that were paid in full, and she couldn’t get to mine for another 6-8 months. Kendig here in salt lake are going to do them for me but more than double the price.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
I contacted Princess through Facebook as well. Customer service was spectacular, and she and I still keep in touch as well. Mostly through comments on our respective Facebook or Instagram.

Sounds like I'm not getting covers made for this summer. Really wish there were more options out there for GTA seats. Hawks and Classic Ind. sell only the cheapest knock off material for GTA seats and its pathetic.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
I have a set of the leer sigler firebird seats that I was planning to have her make covers for. she will have to make a pattern from my seats though, so extra expense and extra time.
She does such great work that it is worth the wait.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
If your seats are looking pretty bad then you could buy the usual covers to use in the interim and then sell when the good stuff shows up. That's what I would do.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
Another option is: https://leatherseats.com/
I bought real leather front & rears for my 89 RS Convertible last year. They'll send you pictures of patterns, material and completed work samples

I didn't know Leather Seats made covers for 3rdgen seats. But they do custom work, so, yeah, I guess they would make 3rdgen covers if you wanted them too. But they won't sell only the leather goods to consumers. It's a Katzkin company, so it will only sell the goods to Katzkin-approved, licensed upholsterers.
Under the "Products" heading, you can 'build your own,' based on your car-specific seats. But the fun stuff is under the "Colors" heading, where there's a demonstrational tool that you can play with to see how all of the different leathers will look the seats. So many colors and styles! Hours of fun! It was on that webpage where I created the color scheme for the custom seat covers that Princess is making for me... someday... I hope...

She's freaking awesome!
I'm not sure where you got the notion that https://leatherseats.com/
only sells to dealers but they make seats covers for 3rd gens for sale to general public, pick your make, model, year, convertible/coupe from their configurator and what factory leather or cloth pattern you have now and what you want to replace it with. I bought 100% Real Leather front & rears last year and I just tried again a few minutes ago, no problem, they'll still sell to anybody... and I don't see anything that shows they're a Katzkin company either. You must be thinking of somebody else.
Re: Is Lethal Interiors “aka princess” still doing seat covers for our cars?
You misunderstood what I said. They make seat covers, yes. But if you want to buy just the leather material, to make your own seat covers, or to have somebody else make the seat covers, then no, they won't sell it to you.
And all of the leathers they use are, indeed, Katzkin leathers. That's because they are a part of the Katzkin network of dealers, which is why they can't sell, or are not supposed to sell, only the material. That has always been a condition of being a Katzkin dealer.
I tried to buy leather from them three years ago, and they wouldn't sell it to me for that reason. So I had to find a Katzkin-approved, independent upholsterer who could, and was willing to, buy the leather I wanted, so I could have my own upholsterer make my seat covers. I did find someone who would, he did, and that's how I got the material.
So, yes, they make and sell seat covers. But, no, they can't sell only the material to individual consumers. They do the whole job, or nothing.

not sure why you would want just the material, and not completed product when they can make them ready to install. IF you want em customized to some level they don't offer, why not get that done after the fact by Princess or whoever? I'm sure that would be cheaper as well.
My daughter & son-in law own a upholstry shop in Arizona (i'm in vegas) and when I talked to them last year they were going to order a set from katzkin for me cause they're a shop/dealer & it's cheaper to buy them already made if available then to stitch em up themselves; and they later told me they could not buy a set for a 3rd gen from them when they called to order.
i still don't see anything on https://leatherseats.com/
saying they're associated with katzkin in someway either and nothing on katzkin site appears to reference them as some dealer, distributor or installer. Other Katzkin dealers have it dipicted all over their sites so you can't miss it.
IDK if i'm missing something but IF the goal is 100% real leather factory replacement seat covers in factory or a custom pattern for 3rd gens by a company that's done 1000's at least I'm not sure I see the advantage of buying material and paying a upholstry shop to stich up a set from scratch. IF you want something one off I think it'll still be cheaper to start with something from https://leatherseats.com/ first.
My daugher & son in law made me some custom leather seat covers to replace the vinyl one's on one of my harley's and they had to buy an entire hide, which was like 75% more material than needed. Just that one hide was about $700 their cost.
The folks at https://leatherseats.com/
gave me hog rings and hog ring pliers & everything I needed to do the job myself.
Also as of the time of this posting https://katzkin.com/
does not offer anything for 3rd gens...
Another interesting distinction between LeatherSeats.com & Katzkin.com is what percentage of Real Leather is used...
Katzkin plays some word salad on their definition they posted 11 hours ago from the time of this post.
