Engine: Procharged 406

Transmission: 5 speed

Roof seat belt retractor bolt size

Anyone know the size and pitch of the bolts that hold the retractors for the seat belts to the inside of the roof? Previous owner took the seat belts out and I don't see any bolts that fit, I went through drawers of bolts and also lined up my craftsman metric and standard taps and I cannot get anything to thread in to any of the four bolt holes

They're an M8 IIRC. It'd be worth tracking down a set of original bolts. Seems to me the originals are a deforming thread/locking fastener. Which is potentially why nothing seems to fit right.

Definitely source original bolts. Seat belt bolts are specifically for this purpose. They are a safety item and will be the correct length, pitch, and hardness.
