VENT and HTR only coming from defrost

As the title states, selecting VENT or HTR has air coming out from the windshield defrost vent only. MAX, NORM, BI-LEV, and Defrost settings all seem to work as they should. I checked behind the HVAC controls and nothing looked out of place. Any ideas?

sounds like the vacuum lines on the heater control may not be operating the way they should be

Re: VENT and HTR only coming from defrost

I just wanted to update this thread in case someone else has this issue in the future. It seems as though the spring was not giving enough tension or the rubber disc has just become hard allowing for a slight leak in the HVAC sector. I tried taking it apart and the plastic holding it together broke. Threw a nut, washer, and screw through it with some loctite and it's working better than I can recall it ever working. The doors must not have been opening all the way for some time before failing.
