Hatch pull down stuck down

I opened the hatch on my 91 camaro and the pull down never went up. So now I can’t close the hatch. Is there a way to manually close it while I wait for a new pull down assembly?

or any thoughts on what it may be?

It will shut but you have to slam it real hard to close it. But you have to pray to the gods of 3rd gen heaven that the glass doesn't shatter to pieces. You can try to pull the fuse for the hatch motor and put it back in a few times. Sometimes this works to "kick" the motor with a little voltage peak and it MAY come up again.

thanks!! I got it closed! I closed it gently until it wouldn’t go further and then kinda shoved down and after a few times it latched! Now at least I can drive it while I wait for a new part. Thanks again!!
