Did the 89 GTA come with specific seats that were different from the standard T/A?

 

Yes, they are called the Ultima seats. They have pneumatic adjustable lumbar and side bolsters, special adjustable headrests, adjustable thigh support, with even a tilt feature. They are really comfortable seats and unique to the GTA in third gens and look similar to the 4th gen Trans am seats but are different if you compare them directly.

 

Not unique to GTA's in third gen. cars. My '88 T/A has them, along with the AQ9 RPO code in the console.

 

I haven’t seen those in anything other than GTAs, I bet there aren’t many of those in Trans ams.

 

I've been told they are pretty rare. My car also has the red GTA wheels, another rare option.
