Two keys or only one?
(I’m new here and don’t know if this is the correct board for this so redirect me if needed
) I recently bought a base 1988 firebird, and the person got it from their grandfather that passed away. Because of this, he didn’t have the original key to the car and had the ignition replaced. He kept the original ignition and gave it to me. A friend of mine also said that older gm cars would have a separate key for the ignition and trunk locks and such. I was wondering first of all if it would have two separate keys, and secondly if it would be cheaper to replace the locks or just bring the ignition to a locksmith with a blank key and get a new key. Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!A locksmith should be able to easily make the round key that will fit all the above mentioned. Otherwise, you're changing out a lot of locks. If the ignition is replaced and working, there is no need to mess with that square key.
