Lower seat rails?

Hello. I am looking for information on lower seat rails. I'm 6' 7" and my head hits the ceiling in my trans am a good bit with the seat reclined pretty far back. . I'd really only need a drivers side. I have heard that 4th gen seat rails were shorter in height, is that true?

I’d love to know this too. I’m 6’7” as well and my thought was to buy aftermarket seats with different rails to get a couple inches more of clearance. I just don’t know what rails to look at or buy without having to buy a bunch and return what I don’t use.

OP did you find a solution yet?

Re: Lower seat rails?

I have 5th gen seats and now that I removed the interior to weld in the SFC I was looking at alternative methods of fastening the seats to the floor. Are those rails there ONLY to mount the seats? Without those I gain a little head room

Forgive my ignorance a bout this. I know NOTHING a bout this
