Finally starting work on getting my 92 RS (purchased June 2023) on the road and troubleshooting issues - next up - the hatch doesn’t pull down(surprise! NOT.lol). We removed it and it looks nothing like the others I’ve seen in my searches. Is this metal piece supposed to be there? Is it supposed to be bent in a different direction? You can clearly see where it’s been hitting the plastic, it’s worn a notch. TIA for your response.

Is this from a 92? I’m aware that they changed them in 92 and are different than older years.

 

yes it’s from a 92…you can see it’s the tan plastic style not the earlier metal style

 

I see now, that metal piece clearly shouldn’t be up like it currently is.

 

Some late 91's came with the plastic style.
