What should I do with my electric pulldown hatch latch?

So my hatch latch is just hanging on the rails. It’s not bolted in. Doesn’t have plastic guides. So my rear hatch bounces up over bumps and isn’t Ike fully shut. I’ve heard of people just bolting them in by drilling holes. Or people welding them in the lowest position of the latch. I want it to be relatively cheap. I just want my hatch to be fully shut. Any ideas?

there was one in the junkyard that had the rails bolted together and the motor disconnected.... ... this was before the replacement guides were available... it was bolted just low enough so that the hatch would close just like the older 82-84 cars.. if its too low it wont latch as the pull down goes very low.
