I need to replace my tach overlay for my 92 Trans Am. I had cut a hole in the original for a digital WB reader. Well I don't use that anymore, so I want to go back to stock. Are the overlays sold separately somewhere?
In case you haven't resolved this yet, there aren't any factory-style gauge overlays. There are (or used to be and might still be) white overlays that were easy to install on the dials. But for factory style, you'll have to find a used gauge that matches yours (6,000 rpm, 8,000 rpm, 6-cylinder, 8-cylinder, diagonal screws, vertical screws, etc.). Then either replace the entire gauge, or pop the needle off, remove the two tiny screws, lift off the dial, then replace the dial, screws and needle, which you should be able to do without removing the gauge.
If your 350 is factory, and the 5-speed is swapped, then this 6,000 dial might be what you're looking for, and if the screw pattern matches yours, then you can have this one, but I suspect the screws in yours are diagonal not vertical. But if your car originally came with the 5-speed and a 305, then you probably need an 8,000 rpm dial.
