89 GTA Interior Help

Completely removed the interior panels from the rear of my GTA to go through everything, clean everything up, replace incorrect hardware etc... Have some general questions and wanted to post them here.

These are the small female clips that are used on multiple panels in the back of the car. I found them "installed" about 4 different ways. Is this the correct way they should be oriented in the metal frame?

Re: 89 GTA Interior Help

This is the rear center piece with the metal pickup.

1) The two screws for the metal pickup are torx screws. Are those correct?
2) The center section is warped, guessing this is just from the age, heat etc... but wanted to confirm this should be straight? If so, might try and straighten it with a heat gun.

Re: 89 GTA Interior Help

This is the piece that covers the jack compartment and has the jack instructions on the inside of the trim piece. At the rear of the panel down on the lower half I found a push-in style retainer. Thinking this should be a plastic screw since I haven't found another black retainer anywhere else on these panels but wanted to verify. Is this correct or should it be a plastic screw?

Re: 89 GTA Interior Help

Personally, i like the plastic clips installed flat side out. This keeps the panel in contact w/ the body, instead of leaving a gap if installed opposite in your pic. Which is the OE way i believe.
1. Philips, as are the two for the panel
2. Straight/flat
3. plastic screw.

Thanks!! For the clips are you saying you install the plastic clips inside the metal frame with the flat side facing the body or inside of the panel? Trying to visualize.

Re: 89 GTA Interior Help

The "other" side sticks out preventing the body/panel from contacting each other or leaving a gap. So i'll install the clip with the flat side is facing out (as pictured) since that doesn't stick out much.
