Where to Get a LS1

Hi, Im new to all this performance engines and I was wondering, I am goin to a couple "self serve" junkyards and I was wondering what cars and years should I check if lookin for a LS1 or LT1 engine, and if i am lucky enough to find one what should I grab from the car, I am gonna swap it into a 1988 V6 Camaro, any help would be grea, Thanks

I dont know much but Im pretty sure that is going to be a pain in the but. Going from a v6 to a v8 is hard enough especially if that v8 is going to be an LS1. I would basically look in any 4th gen firebird or Camaro because those are definites and you wont waste your time, I saw one of each when I went the other day.

Do you know any junkyard that might have a couple third gens and some fourth gens laying around in the NorthEast preferably a U-Pull junkyard???
