exhaust problem

i doubt any1 has ran into this be4 but may have some suggestions for me.

87 gta undergoing lt1 swap. has long tube headers with subframe connectors(kinda tight under there).

anyway the shop that fabbed the exhaust messed up a little.

oops might help 700r4 btw

on the driver's side the exhaust is too close to the tranny linkage and i can't get that piece to connect together.

it is weird on mine, like right where the tranny linkage goes into the bracket, there are like 2 plastic pieces that connect together and it will keep popping out of place.

i really don't want to have the exhaust redone, i was thinking of reworking the linkage slightly.

should i try a) mangeling the bracket some? b) getting a different style of linkage and see if it fits?

that all i can think of for now, any other suggestions would be appreciated. thanx.

take it back to the shop and tell them nicely how they messed up. They should fix it free of charge.

heat up the exhaust pipe..... put a big socket or a pipe on it and beat it in with a hammer a bit.
it will make a nice indention and should keep things clear of your linkage.
good luck.
