Buffer Box / AC Questions
88 GTA removed L98 TPI, installing 98 LS1.
Sold the L98 and have pulled portion of wiring harness (injectors, engine sensors, ECM) for new owner. Do I need to keep the yellow box (VSS Buffer I think) for use with new engine?
On the A/C I bought a used compressor, acumulator, lines, etc, I think it was off a 2000, my parts manual shows 98-02 as all the same anyway. My question, should I keep/use the original accumulator and get a new hose made to run from acumulator to compressor or use the new accumulator and get a hose made to run to the airbox? I assume either would work but better to ask than assume and be wrong.

You don't need the buffer box to make the speedo work, but you will need it if you want the stock cruise control to work
no idea about the ac stuff though. Still trying to get that figured out on my end.
Good luck

Buffer Box
Jason, thanks for the reply. I would like to keep the cruise working and hadn't thought about it being tied into this. Any wiring hints on how you made this work? I guess split the VSS output with one going to speedo and other to buffer box?
I miss carbed motors, motor swaps were an easy weekend deal.

I haven't done this just yet. Still waiting for the buffer box I was given to come in the mail
What I've found from searching is that you have to run a direct signal to the guage, then "T" off of that into the buffer box, then out to the crusie module.
Might have to hook up a ground or something, but it looks pretty straight forward. I'm sure it'll be fun
