What else before the LS1 drops in?

Ok, here's my list so far.. Anything I'm missing that's best to do *before* the engine is in a bay?

LS6 intake
LS6 PCV system
LS6 oil pump
Better timing chain
Cheater cam kit
ported TB and bumpstop mod
ported MAF ends

Anything else easy to do now (and cheap, I'm running out of money!!)??

Thanks,

Kevin D.

Is their a differenct between the ls1 and ls6 oil pumps?

Before i put my motor in i plan on replacing it, and on gmpartsdirect the same pump shows up for all aplications.

2001-02 the LS1's got the LS6 pump, if you have the old LS1 model just upgrade to a ported pump like from texas speed or somwhere like that.

Your looking pretty good, might want to upgrade your rod bolts to some arp or katech cause thats your weakest link for the bottom end. If you have a 2000 or older engine then i would defintaly do it since in 01 they addresed the issue and put in some better ones.

It's the modified LS6 pump from Thunder, so I think I'm set. How much are the rod bolts and how much trouble? Not looking to raise the engine up higher than my roller, but will if it's cheap enough I'll do it.

As far as the car, everything's ripped out, all the 4th gen wiring is in, the bay is cleaned, all un-needed stuff is removed. I would paint it now, but if I did I would fill everything hole not used, reshape the inner fenders, and a lot of detailing. Not something I'm looking to go through right now, it will have to wait until the next time the engine is out.

Thanks!

Kevin D.
