My new setup is running... just waiting on my chromemoly driveshaft and getting it tuned. Then its off to the strip... hope to be going 10.50's on the motor with a T56.

You guys are being a bunch of douche bags... why can't someone keep their project or build on the DL until they get timeslips or dyno #'s? Its done and we fired it last night so get off my back....

hey, its yours setup. do as you please.
what does dyno #'s or track times have to do with anything?
all you gotta say is "its a 408 with ETP heads" or something....
still pretty simple if you ask me.
i cant make you say it, i was just asking a VERY simple question.
whos the douche bag?

I understand where you're coming from and I know you're razzing me but I'd rather have the 550RWHP dyno sheet and 10 second timeslip to back up my "claims" of my setup. Know what I mean? Some people say they have this or say they have that but never have any proof. Know what I mean? All I'll say is my old little H/C 346 went 11.50's its first and only time to the track... this motor is alot different. Big cubes, big cam, big heads, etc Here are some pics of it... I just got it running last night. I've been working on it all since about March

Here's a quick video I threw together...

A few recent pics as well.

rims are 15x10 prostars with 7.5" backspacing. Tire is a MT ET street DR, 325/50/15... 28" tall and about 12-13" wide. I had to do some clearancing to make it work. Rearend is a 4th gen moser 9"... LS1 brakes at all 4 corners as well

Never had the courage to put my 10 bolt to the test. Even on the street I am fearful of it letting go.

Your car looks like my 91. Looks great. I am interested in how you did rear conversion. Can you PM me info and pricing information?

Great looking/sounding car, GTA91. That "initial startup" sounds identical to mine.

Man I hope not... there's no way the cam I'm running would work that well with a turbo

I currently have a 4th gen 10 bolt and am thinking of putting in something better before I shread it. Did you have to buy the 9" as a kit or seperate. Also how did you deal with the emergency brake cables? If you have any pics I would greatly apprecaite them.

Actually, my STS kit isn't on yet. The "plan" is to break the engine in normally aspirated (and I've got a nice, big, lumpy custom stroker cam to do it with!) and then next spring we'll add the STS, the twin intercooler setup, a turbo-friendly cam, and a nice new tune.

In the meantime, that rumble just sounds MEAN!!!!

Just call up Moser and order a rearend for a 4th gen (LT1 or LS1 depending on what rear brakes you're running) and then shell out over $2k. That or you can buy one used like I did. E-brake cables are hard to explain other than "rigged" but its safe and it works fine!

I can't wait for the tracks to open in March... I've got my new billet flywheel and Textralia clutch sitting here staring at me as well as my new tunnel mount Chris Alston torque arm. I might also be doing a spool or truetrac this winter too... my posi is shot. Maybe some giggle juice if I get crazy... has anyone gotten a LS1 3rd gen in the 9's yet?

if i wasnt in the middle of buying a house right now, id throw the motor on kill and go for 9's
i think i could get a snap a 6.2~ ish on a 200-225 shot.
that would net 9.70's for sure.
no funds for a new motor, and i enjoy driving it, LOL.
paypal me donations for a new motor, and ill be at the track next weekend.

----------
there has been a lx mustang with a 408 go 9.80's i think? also a 68-69 firebird if i heard correctly.

I havent seen anything about a thirdgen LSX car in the nines yet, but as easy as it is to do with the LSX motors there could already be one. I'm personally just looking for a 6.80-6.90 pass in the 1/8th and I'll be happy. I'm gonna try to do it with a bone stock motor + n2o and hope the motor lives.

I'm sure both of you guys could get some 9's n/a (nitrous assisted). Lets see who can get there first.

Well once my car is lined out I'd like to get 10.50-10.70 at 128-130mph out of it. We'll see... then spray it and go somewhere in the high 9's. hell I don't know though... its just a street car

Hey, Do you have any pics or info on the alston torque arm set up. I have been looking but cant find any info on it or a place to buy it. I am swapping out my Spohn torque arm set up for a drews crossmember due to exhaust clearnce problems and need to either go back to a trans mounted arm which i dont want to do or the tunnel mounted set up. I have heard both good and bad about the BMR Trak Pak so want to look into the Alston unit. The spohn unit is actually starting to sag in the rear.

I got mine from FLP... www.flp2win.com $350 shipped to my door. Here's a pic of it... similar to the Jeg's one but much stronger. A few guys on LS1tech have 60' 1.28 on them.

Wow, I like that design opposed to the BMR trak paks design. I wonder how much noise it will transmit to the interior though. Defianetly will look into buying it...........jt

I'm in the market for a new TA setup and that unit looks very appealing. However, I cant seem to find on FLP's website. You have any pics of it on your car?

I'm gonna go with a divorced TA set-up and this will be much cheaper than going with a new crossmember and new TA.

I'm sure both of you guys could get some 9's n/a (nitrous assisted). Lets see who can get there first.

Yeah I'm curious on interior noise as well but I don't drive this car everyday so oh well.

As for finding it on FLP's website... you won't. Just give them a call and order it.

No pics? I'll give them a ring.

xtremeirocz..... Your car weigh 3850? If so, put that sucker on a diet and you might see 9's with nothing else done.

Good to hear, only difference i can see in the jegster vs alston is the extra brace in the center of it. I did see a pic of a jegster arm bent while searching on the alston set up. Guess the extra brace isnt a bad thing..........jt

while i doubt i'll currently break the jegster arm, in the future i would like to weld on a very similar brace to it.

with the jegster arm out of the TQ arm bracket, you can bend the bars if you put your weight into it... thats a good thing for lining up the bolt holes, but its not overkill strong by anymeans.

still i dont think its going to break on my car... ive been driving on it now for almost a year.
once every oil change ive greased the sliding bushing.. the first time i went to do it, it was almost dry.. but since then, its stayed greased.
the exposed grease area stays suprisingly clean, considering i street drive the car, regardless of weather or road conditions.. its seen plenty of rain, sand, dirt ect... but it doesnt get that bad.

be sure to grease the sides of the eyelet bushing good when you install it. once its in, you really cant grease it again without unbolting the entire mounting plate.

i got a spohn torque arm and that sucker makes some noise lol but it seems to be a nice piece. havent really got a chance to test it much. only 1 pass and it was new best 60 foot.

cam/bolt ons/tune LS1 with 150 shot should be very low 11's if not high 10's easy. some guys out there make 550 whp with 150shots. thats plenty of power to get 10's

Thanks for the info, have you noticed any difference on launching/hook up with the jegster vs other aftermarket TA set ups or did you from stock TA to the jegster? My best 60ft on the Spohn was a 1.67, although i feel if my driving was better it would be lower. There is a noticable seat of the pants differnce in the spohn unit vs stock when launching.
