Do you mean, who is? Or what combo was used?

I dont think that many people with the LS1 swaps are running them hard on the track, so I have no clue what kinda numbers people are getting.

But, with any hope, mine will be in the top when it gets done

With 75 shot dropped to 11.74 at 112'

i know im far from the fastest, but mine did a 7.9 in the 1/8th with a 1.7 60'...

that was with the stock manifolds, stock motor, thru a stock 99z28 muffler/tips...

basicly its like a 4thgen with massive weight reduction.. lol.

with some traction, gearing, and minor mods, im sure 7.6s are possible without even going into the motor.

i think the speartech group went 10's last year IIRC.

the fastest n/a ls1 thirdgen would be a toss up, with a built trans so i could actually launch mine, it would be low 11's.
Leaving the line at 1200rpm with old worn out BFG drag radials the car 60' was 1.70x, then broke the trans on the 1-2 shift.

if no one will by my car soon, mine will have a turbo this winter

i was out at san antonio raceway today and went a 10.94 with a 6.9 1/8th and i let off at the thousand foot. i think my run could have easily been a 10.60-10.80 because my second pass i ran 10 more mph

How you like the headers? We have a very heated discussion on ls1tech going on about em right now.

the headers didnt fit at all.
i have a th350 and a spohn tq arm and run into numerous problems.

they are on and finished now, but it wasnt a bolt on and go deal.
to someone not so inclined, or didnt have a good selection of tools may be in trouble.

i dont see them being a problem fitting on a 6spd car, but an automatic you may run into trouble.

the spohn tq arm x member was a hurdle to run the exhaust under. i had to cut and chop it up pretty good.
all is well.
the car actuallly is more quiet at WOT with the headers.
cruising is about the same, but i think the idle is more deep, not loud at all tho.

im TJ on ls1tech. i think i responded to the thread where you and the gentlemen were whispering.

Ahh, glad to see you are here as well, much more mature croud here.

I was wondering about the Spohn X-Member, I've got one for my T-56 with the nice adj Trq Arm.

I dont know if I want to cut it up.....

I would like to run the exhaust on the sides and dump right before the rear tire.....but I think thats illegal here, and would kill any hopes of ground clearance.

i pretty much cut all of the bottom of the 90 degree angle off that the tubes are welded to, and the bottom of the welds on all the tubes.
prolly saved an inch all together, if it wasnt cut, the y pipe would hang so low it isnt funny.
its tucked up nice.
ill have pics loaded up tomorrow.

my headers fit great, but yes the y-pipe was bit of a pain to get to fit. I had to cut a little on my spohn x-member, then shorten the y-pipe a little cause it was rubbing a little on the tq. arm. But it all tucked nice in there now and i rarely scrape.

I've been beating the crap out of mine since its been on the road, I've had some problems with the A4, but other than that everything is good. Probably 5K miles and 50 passes at the track in about a year and a half. Thats what I built it for. It will get 28 mpg on the highway also, cant beat that IMHO.

Anyone else using their car this much? lol

any pics are part #'s.
be nice to have an alternative, as some dont really cant afford (or simply) dont want to spend that much on headers.

I got them for right under 400$ with gaskets and collectors and bolts, but they were midlength and not a full longtube

i rolled over 9k before i went on vacation.... currently my odo reads 9,001.... i reset it when i did the LS1 swap...

isnt that friggin cool though? i have NEVER done a swap that let my car run 7s, and run it EVERYDAY, as my daily driver, and not have a single problem...

i mean, the closest thing to a problem that ive had, is my exhaust is kinda low. ive had to tweak it a little... other then that, the only work done to it was stuff i wanted to do...

got mine running in july and just ticked off 14k yesterday. Car is awsome pulls like a beast. Since july drivin it from cali to Michigan, to boston, back to MI, and just drove it from MI back to boston today (yes i know too much driving).....but the car has been great havn't had a problem yet (even driving it from cali to MI only after having it running for 4 days!!!), beeen getting between 29-31 mpg on the freeway. Planning for a 9 inch and tires this winter then finaly taking it to the track this spring/summer can't wait.

Amen...

There is so much more I can do to this thing to make it faster too. The motor is untouched and the anemic 2.73 10 bolt is still back there. I might just leave the 89 alone and start on a 6.0L/big turbo drag only car. Who knows. So many ideas, too little time.

Oh come on! That thing will move enough air to blow the welds on your intake manifold. lol Oh wait that was nitrous my bad.

Another company is making one that has the TB on the rear and it might clear the hood but the firewall might be a problem.

lol, im just joking.. that moves plenty of air..

but it doesnt fit underhood.

i dont like attention.. not the kind that a blower like that would attract anyway... i just want to go faster.

i figure a turbo on a cammed LS1 will hold me over until i can get a nice low compression, forged 6.2+ Liter gen IV shortblock..... then i'll just get a bigger turbo.

(notice i said i want to go faster... it doesnt matter how fast it goes, i want to go fastER.....)

I'm doing it just backwards of that. Got the low compression 6.6L LS2, next I'll be adding on the turbo.

92 ls1 truck vs lightning

I got a video here of my brothers truck at the track after we got the 98ls1/4l60 into his truck, stock then with just zo6 rims tires. Not sure what all was done to the lightning but he was suppose to be fast. Not to bad for his first night at the track running, got a 13.5 outa the truck.

I'll be running mine next weekend if the weather holds out... should have track times soon... maybe dyno #'s soon as well!

Speartech's supercharged went 10.8. Thats the fastest swap time I have seen.

Hopefully I will hit the 11's at least this year.

Mine ended up going 11.58@118.6 a few weekends ago. All motor with a t56 and a 9" Its got more in it yet... that was its first time to the track. Also, on that pass it went 7.4 @ 94 in the 1/8th

isnt that friggin cool though? i have NEVER done a swap that let my car run 7s, and run it EVERYDAY, as my daily driver, and not have a single problem...

i mean, the closest thing to a problem that ive had, is my exhaust is kinda low. ive had to tweak it a little... other then that, the only work done to it was stuff i wanted to do...

9+ months later........

.... odo now reads 22,000+ miles... still no problems... fuggin awesome.
