My LS1 / T56 swap - motor in

Howdy,
I love this forum, it has been very helpful for me. I've been taking a lot of pics and will have a write-up on my site when i get done. Here's a couple of the motor going in:

Used Spohn motor mounts, t56 trans mount, plus spohn rear suspension pieces. New bushings, ball joints, koni shocks, etc. USing 4th gen clutch pedal, 4th gen gas tank. Painted the engine bay while it was apart. More pics as the work goes by, but having the motor in is always a nice milestone.

Thanks for the great info guys

James

Looks great man . I could only imagine what its like seeing that engine in the car for the first time. Definatly keep us all updated.

I'm working on getting the 4th gen gas tank in my car too. The salvage yard i got the tank from decided to cut all the plastic piping that connects to the sending unit, so that might be a set back unless i can buy it new from gm.

I used a 4th gen plastic tank, and made hard lines with push on adapters sold at autoparts stores. I'll post some photos in a few days.

Ask and you shall recieve:

I'll post some photos from under the car and engine bay soon, i used the stock line and filter assembly, other photos will make more sense. Once i figure out how to change the signal from the ls1 fuel level sender to the factory range i'll post it up as well.

If anyone has some comments or things for me to add let me know,

Thanks,
James

Howdy,
It looks like you have it right, i'm not using the evap though (i don't live in CA)

Summit, jegs, and a few others sell quick connects that go to AN fittings, butthey were on back order. I bought autostore quick connects (3/8") , cut the barb off and used a 3/8 compression union to go to 3/8 hardline - and then connected them to the other 3/8 harlines to the fuel pump and one i made to the T.

I'll tryo to post pics in a few days.

Good luck.

James
