Code 29 EAS Electrical Fault...What is it?
I have a check engine light that comes and goes. I got this trouble code: 29 EAS Electrical Fault. I have a 94' Camaro Lt1 in my 91' firebird. What does this code mean?
Thanks
Thanks

according to shoebox its the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump circuit
check out your wires and connector to the smog pump...

My haynes manual says AIR pump too, but the Snap-on scanner tells me it's an "EAS Electrical Fault." What is an EAS, and why is it faulting? I've been having problems with an over rich condition, could this be the cause? I'm confused about the discrepancy between the book and the scanner.
BTW, I took the AIR pump and associated stuff off, and capped the fittings on the headers. This should not throw a code. My buddy has a '94 LT1 Caprice and has had the AIR pump disconnected for years with no codes. Also, the CEL comes and goes, seemingly at random. The AIR pump only runs on LT1s at startup till the Cats are hot enough to work effectivly. It wasnt overly effective. It was so non-effective that '95 and later LT1s have a TSB for AIR pump disabling.

So, I've learned that EAS stands for Electronic Air Secondary circuit, and is an AIR pump code as you said Firebat. But, the AIR system is long gone on the '94 Caprice with no code, so why am I getting one here?

Thanks for the info. I got it figured out to my satisfaction. With just the plug unplugged but with the relay in place will generally not code at least on OBD1. If the relay is dead or you removed it that could be why it is coding here. When we did the swap, we removed all the AIR pump wiring including the relay.
