Getting ready for wiring

Hi again all. I am in the planning stages for the wiring at this time. I hope to be ready to start this weekend. I have removed the original wiring harness for the old 305 carb engine. The only harness that remained in the car was the harness for the headlights. Now that the LT1 is in the car with it's harness hooked up to the motor and tranny, am i right in assuming that i need to install the old 305 harness back in to splice in the wires needed to make this thing run? Or are you all just running wiring into the connectors inside the car. Once again, thanks for the help. By the way, i plan on using the factory wiring harness for the 94 Vette LT1. Is this harness the same as what's listed in the LT1 wiring for dummies post?

All the wires can be spliced into the C100 bulkhead connector on teh drivers side firewall, and into the compiter plugs under the pass side rash. There is no need to reinstall the 305 engine harness.
