Notched my crossmember today... Pics inside

I just pulled out my engine crossmember and took the 'ol cut-off wheel to it. I am going to hava a professional welder friend of mine fill it with some plate steel. GTA91, i used your pics as a rough guide, hehe. Does this look like a big enough notch or does it need to go further back towards the mount? Pics below

Well, if your engine is out, bolt the k-member up to it and see if the A/C fits. That's what I did.

looks like it needs to go back a little further. I think mine goes almost all the way back to the edge of the engine mount.

Super_kev, I agree, take a look below

Here is what the k-member looked like after welding

This is the clearance from the front of the engine, i hope when the engine weight is actually loading the mounts my clearances don't change too much.

This is a view from the top, with the ACSource.com hoseblock mounted. The socket head cap screw was thrown id there just for mockup, but i still don't think a hose nut will clear with the OEM hex head either. That block doesn't seem to seal well either, hmmm.

This is what i got so far, with the hawks headers bolted on one side to show clearances

That's all i can handle for now, it's like 95 in my garage and humid. Friggin Chicago weather
