heater control valve/heater hose question LS1

ok, i know the l98 heater control valve and 1 line going to the intake, 1 return line , 1 inlet line and 1 line going to the heater core.

my question is if anyone doing the ls1 conversion is even using the control valve, and if so, how u hosed it up.... since the ls1 doesn't really have an intake inlet....not counting that small one i hooked up to the radiator. is there a 3 hose heater control valve thats being used? need some help... let me know. thanks in advance.

I'm not even using it. The less clutter the better for me. Water will flow trough the heater core at all times this way, but its no biggie for me.

only reason why i'd like to use a valve is because when driving in the summer, especially on the highway, i don't want that warm air in the car, you can still feel it even if the blower is off

I didnt use a heater valve either. Ugly thing and its too many darn hoses.

First...when you have A/C on, doesnt a door swing over and block the air from going through the heater core? That might not happen...but I thought something like that did.

If I put my controls all the way over to cold, without the HVAC on, I dont get much heat out of the vents. I get more heat from the floor boards than I do from the vents.

Second...I thought about this when I was doing my set up. One of my solutions was to put a nice ball valve inline with the heater supply line...but I believe the LS1 needs to circulate the coolant between those two hoses. Still not sure about that...some people say you can cap those off others say it needs to circulate.

If you want to keep it simple, you can always install a "U" shaped hose on the heater outlets, and plug the heater hoses for the summer. Then when it starts getting cold out, re-attach the hoses from the heather core. Not that big a deal. Gives you a reason to keep up with your coolant changes too. Just a thought.

I havent charged my A/C to see if its going to cool overtop of the heat...but as cold as the 4th gen system can blow, I think it will be fine.

I'm using it. I simple hooked up the lines like there were on the L98. I think I had to get some new hose to get them to be long enough to reach the new waterpump.

I dont want any extra heat coming into the cabin of my car since I'm in Texas...
