93 LT1's. Possible to convert to 94 - 95 style?
Hey Everyone.
A simply amazing deal has dropped onto my lap and its impossible to pass up.
The engine/ECM/Intake/TB is from a 93.
Is it possible to convert the engine to the style of the 94 - 95?
If its possible, how would i do this?
Thanks!
Sheldon

ECM and wiring harness, that's it.
If you want the vented opti, you will have to put a 95+ cam in the car, change timing cover and opti. Only difference between the '93 and '94 intake is the rear fuel crossover, it may be worth swapping the intake to the 94+ style.

You dont have to change the entire cam to run the vented opti. All you have to do is drive the dowel pin in further because the differance in the drive flange on the back of the opti. If all you have is the engine the get yourself a 94-95 engine harness, ECM, MAF and knock sensor. The intake and fuel rail is up to you. Not that big of a deal. I have a harness, ECM and MAF from a 95 Z28 automatic if your interested PM me. It is in great shape. Hope that helps.

Wow...... Dont I feel like an ***. Ive done atleast 4-5 vented opti conversions and it never occured to me that the cam on a 95+ car had a deeper recess in the front. Ive always done a cam swap while I was doing the conversions so I never had to deal with the stock 92-94 cam. I apologize for my oversight. Thanks Klortho for setting me straight on that. That could could have been a major problem if I had decided to do a vented opti conversion on a car with a stock cam.
