Hey guys, I'll get the brown nosing out of the way first, great board with a wealth of info! It's gonna take a long time to browse through here for answers. Looks like it will be a godsend for my little project.
I have an 83" Z28 with a 305 CFI,700r4 trans and 3.23 open end rear. It was my first car and now that I am a little better versed in basic mechanics, I am doing and hillbilly restoration.
I have picked up an LT1 350 motor out of a later model Camaro for $400. I am planning on getting it rebuilt and souped up a little bit..Guess I have alot of research to do as far as upgrades go.
I have the camaro completely apart as far as the drivetrain goes..Now I am gonna start on the suspension and work my way up.
Seems simple enough if you have the cash to dump into it. My budget is $8000 to $10K. The only thing that worries me is the wiring/computer stuff. It seems like a long hard road ahead of weekend beer drinking and wrench turning.
Any tech tips or Warnings are appreciated. Hope to be able to share my trials and tribulations with you guys.
Oh yeah, Curses on that weird torque bar thingy. I've never seen one, and it threw a fracking wrench into my plans..Car had to be jacked up into all fours to pull that motor and trans out.
Again, nice to make all of your aquaintences and thanks in advance for and help/advice.
