Well as sad as it is to say my z is done some idiot cut me off i went over an island doing like 90mph it sucked happend yesterday. scince i'll be staying away from driving i plan on getting my car and moving most of the the interior and the lt1 4l60 over. the body on the z is done i think but i dont have the cash for all the stuff i would need so more on the swap.i want the same power steering rack and ponion can i use the camaro k-member in my firebird or do i have to get the bmr k-member and trans crossmember i plan on striping the z and puting everything that i can on the bird,its an 82'by the way.

Anyway, I think your asking if the 4th gen x-member will fit into a 3rd gen.

The two cars are totally different up front. Different suspension, different steering system, and different motors. I would be shocked if it even bolted up, let alone all the other parts fit.

Oh, and idiots cut me off all the time. But because I'm doing the SPEED LIMIT(around traffic anyways), my car has survived all of them. There is no such thing as an "accident". Somebody has to neglect/break the rules for a collision to occur.

 

forget the k-member, don't need it and enourmous amount of work to get it to fit. take the engine off the k-member, put it in the '82, notch your k-member if you want to keep a/c.
