Re: 700r4 vs. 4l60e

The case is different in the 4L60E. Its the internals that are the same minus the electronic controls in the 700 of course. I though the mount was in the same location though so???

4l60e uses the stock 700r4 mount and crossmember

This is true. 4L60e will bolt directly in place of the 700r4.

Re: 700r4 vs. 4l60e

can you use a 700r4 with an LSx engine or do you have to use a 4l60/80 trans?

Re: 700r4 vs. 4l60e

The mounts are the same but the lsx crossmenber is differant. I just got my sphon touq-arm as well and they said the same, but for now i got the stock cross member till i do the swap then i have to get the lsx crossmember. Follow the link and look at the dementions

Super old post, but did you keep your 700R or did you upgrade? I'd like to keep my 700R but can't find any good info on what cross member works.

The transmission mount location is different on the LS type 4L60E vs. the LT type 4L60E & TH700. So, if you use the transmission to locate the engine, you can use a 3rd gen TH700 crossmember.

Ok....so being a total n00b here and not finding anything when searching. Maybe my keywords are off

I picked up the Spohn 4L60E cross member, but this will not mount to the 700 because of the difference in cases. So I'll be sending that back. They do not make one that mounts to the 700R.

So that leaves me with eitehr swapping to a 4L60E or finding the correct cross member/adapter if the factory cross member won't work,

Can I use my factory cross member where the 700R is currently bolted when doing an LS swap? If not, that's cool, I just need to know what direction to look to make it work.

Re: 700r4 vs. 4l60e

Just spoke to BMR, the Transmission Cross member with Torque Arm Relocation bracket, TCC-017, will work with a 700R4 and LS1 Swap.
