K-Members and A/C

Ok got a couple questions first ill start with the K-members. Ive seen a ton of these tubular K-Members out there from PA Racing, Hawks, BMR etc etc. Is any of them actually worth it? the wieght reduction sounds nice lol but are any of them strong enough too be driven daily? taking hard turns etc be im not nice too my car i drive for fun thats wut muscle cars are about. Probably not a purchase i would make for the intial swap but was wondering if there worth it down the road.

Next question.
How hard is it too keep the a/c? well i should be more specific wut kind of fabed a/c lines need too be made? I doubt the stockers will work lol.

Input would be appreciated thanks.

guess i should mention this is for a LS1 not a LT1

Re: K-Members and A/C

I used a K-member from Spohn and it worked great for me. You can use it for daily driving or what ever, I just drove from Houston to Memphis and back for the LSX shootout. Not much on weight reduction though. It also cleared the a/c compressor, I have an ls2 out of a GTO. I had to use a block from Docs blocks bought some fittings from them bought the line from the shop i had crimp my lines. I bought some a/c solvent from O'riely's, the kind that evaporates not the oil based, pushed it through the condensor and evaporator to clean the system bought a new drier hooked it all up and charged it with 134a and it blows OOHH so cold. Good luck with your project

Re: K-Members and A/C

I have the spohn k-member but it gets in the way of the A/C compressor. I bought the k-member with the option to use the K-member braces and I think the compressor is hitting the bracket for the braces. But i guess i could always cut that bracket off in the future if i decide i want to put the A/C system in.
