LT1 383 ISSUES
Ok guys I am at my wits end, I got the new engine all together and I am having issues with oil not getting up to the heads, I primed it before and got some oil, now I put it in the car and nothing. I started it and heard the horad noise coming form the heads, so I took the V/c off and the heads were dry. so I took the intake back off and primed it with a drill and oil is getting to the lower section of the engine just not coming up to the heads via the lifters. I am running the ls7 lifters, chromoly pushrods, pro mag NSA RR. all that is new, and new oil pump, when I turn it with the drill I am getting oil out of the cam oiling hole, and when I pulled the lifters they are all wet with oil from the center of the engine...... I was wondering should I beable to push in on the lifters?????I cant figuel out what the dral is, am thinking about puting in the old lifters to see if I get oil through them, or will I not be able to get enough pressure to go up the lifter and push rod? I thought I should be able to, and though I remembered it working before

Are you using a priming tool? Did your engine have all of the oil plugs in it. I have seen engines that wouldn't build pressure because the oil plugs were left out in the front of the engine.
