I have read about several choices on where to place the steam tube hose to a nipple in the cooling system. The water pump seems like a popular choice. Is it a simple as drilling a hole in the top of the pump, and getting a nipple to fit the hose and threading it into the hole? Thanks for the help...

 

Wow, no replies... Well I got a outter and inner threaded brass fitting and it threaded into the small hole on the upper passenger side of my radiator that orginally had a heater hose running to it. Then I found a nipple the same size as my steam tube and ran a hose to that.

I don't recall seeing this thread - but I do remember reading that the EXACT placement of where it goes back into the cooling system isn't critical, as long as it's at the top (or near the top) of the cooling system so that any air pockets that might be trapped in the block can be released.

I'd imagine that you've got nothing to worry about with the way you did it...

 

Ahhh the ol' steam tube... LOTS of controversy surrounding this lil feller. Some guys dont even hook it up which is quite foolish IMO. Regardless what you have looks great and I'm sure will work well.
