Transmission help ASAP please

I have a 91 Camaro RS with a LS1/T56 swap

I am changing the clutch with some friends and we had a bit of difficulty getting the transmission out of the tunnel before putting in the clutch.

Now that we have the clutch in, we cant seem to get the transmission back in... On the way out, we had to use a pry bar to get it out...

I would like to get this car working again tomorrow so if anyone has any tips or pointers on how to get this transmission back in that would be awesome!

It seems as if the transmission is getting caught on the bellhousing in the spots where the bolts are supposed to go through into the engine block. It seems like its getting stuck against the firewall and the transmission tunnel.

All help is welcome. Thanks!

Kubus

Re: Transmission help ASAP please

are you not installing the bellhousing separate from the trans??? It does come apart, and for good reason

Yup. Bolt the flywheel, clutch disk, pressure plate, and bell housing to the engine. Then slide the trans input shaft carefully through the disk and into the pilot bearing and bolt it up.
