You need a drive box. Check Hawks 3rd gen section, I know they list it in the LSx swap section.

Re: speedo question

You could either get the drive box, or an electric speedometer. I replaced my whole gauge cluster with a billet panel and autometer gauges.

Re: speedo question

Yes, you can do that as well. It will take a bit more modification as you have to splice into both the ECU and 3rd gen chassis harness to make it work properly, but it has been done many times before.

Re: speedo question

91-92 camaro speedo should work. May need a 91-92 dash gauge cluster harness or just the dash cluster connectors with wires on them. You're going to have to re-wire the gauges anyway when putting in a LT1. After that it would just be as easy as splicing together the LT1 speedo output wire to the thirdgen camaro speedo input wire.

To make the 700R4 get an accurate speedo output with the LT1, you need to buy a 95 camaro 4L60E reluctor gear and press/pound it on the tailshaft, then wire/program.
