Burning up alt

Burning up alt
I keep burning up alternates, from what I have fount it needs a restore, I put the meatier on my 95 and there is a 0.5 v difference from the bat and the alt wire so there is a restore in there so I got a 470 ome 2 % restore but the volts did not change is there some thing that is missing and it is using the F terminal on a switched sours
