Just a quick ???
I have come across a great price on a 96 lt1. i know 96 is obdII but i have a 95 computer and harness (obdI) is there anything i would have to change on the motor to use my 95 harness and comp, i know they are basically the same thing 96 has a crank sencer in timing cover and an extra set of O2's but if i use the 95 harness and comp wouldn't i be able to just "skip those". any help would be awsome. thanks

Are you sure your 95 is OBD I? I thought all 95's were OBD II.

I think you can get your 96 reprogramed to be obd I. Try pcmsforless or other programers. 95 was the last year for obd I 96 the first year for obd II (f-bodys).

since you already have a 95 harness you must adapt your 96 engine to it.. I am running a 96 engine with a converted same year harness.. so similar but the plugs on the harness will be different.
With a 95 harness and 96 engine you will need an older type coil and (i believe) module and different knock sensor to adapt the engine.. you simply leave the cps in place with no plug and don't hook up rear O2s.. You may be able to adapt the plugs on the coil but I am not sure about that since I never had to do it, but they are different.
I ran into trouble with the knock sensor tripping a trouble code (how I found out different years had different sensors).. but pcmsforless or madz28.com can help you out with the program and any questions you might have and I highly recommend contacting them as they have done this stuff a ton more than most.
