Sounds like a good plan to me. I'm a little jealous actually lol.

So what exactly do the L92 heads come from? Are they just a GMPP item, or are they off of some car/truck like the GTO or something?

u can get them off the like 07 newer escaldes 6.2 l92...or u can get them from gm cheap...400 a piece assembled and they flow great, u have to use a l76 intake though cause the intake ports arnt as long and skinny as the older ls motors and u have to have at least a 4 inch bore cause of the valves here is a link to scroggins dickey...http://www.sdparts.com/product/12582...inderHead.aspx

The heads come on '07+ L92 Escalades & Denali GMC Trucks, '08+ LS3 corvettes, they also come on the '08+ G8 GT's LS2's.

ports are broader, and i beleive the shortside radius is better.

They require an L76, LS3 or a L92 Carb intake, and also require a special intake rocker.

A couple things to watch out for is that the LS3 might not use the same reluctor wheel as a regular ls1. Also, the L92 heads have a bad habit of snapping valves so the advised course is to replace them with all new valves.

Do you have a source for that comment about the valves?? The only problems that I'd heard of were with people who were trying to use hollow-stem valves with forced induction...
