Well, I havent shown off my ls1 yet, so here it is. It is a 1999 Ls1 with 4500 miles on it. Yes, 4,500 miles. The donor car was wrecked in 1999. Now with the ls6 intake and GTO CAI. I also have a video of it with the ls1 intake and the stock tpi intake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlvSSjgDErI

It's not REALLY Tech related. It could actually probably fit more closely with the appearance section. Not that I'm complaining, because I enjoy seeing others' work. I was just answering your question lol
Junior Member
Well, here is the last pic of my car with the stock ls1. It now is being torn apart doing a ls1 front brake swap and a Texas Speed and Performance head and cam swap. Woohoo cant wait!!!!!!

I would say seeing how things can fit is tech related in a swap forum.

Bah, that's a baby cam. You sure you don't want something bigger? At least get the 224R or 228R
those are kinda mild in my book even still.
Texas Speed has a Magic Stick 5 now I think... I want it haha

How did you get a GEN IV LS2 block that still uses GEN III components? Wrong timing cover and no external knock sensorsif your going to spend that kinda money on a set of heads id go with a bigger camshaft. but id go and have pat g. custom spec you one.

i wasn't sure on the covers. i was so used to the engine without them during the swap but my friends encouraged me to install them. i was thinking of leaving the valve cover part of the coil cover silver with yellow lettering and painting the rest of the cover white. is that too much white in the engine bay, opinions?

Dont paint them white. Nothing else engine related is white, it would look out of place

Anyone have close up shots of the PS line coming out of the pressure side of the pump?
Here is my entry.

Here is my entry.

I personally don't have a pic of the high pressure power steering hose but go buy yourself one at your local parts store for a 98-02 Camaro and it fits perfectly!
Supreme Member
I have one...it doesnt fit anywhere near "perfect"
I wanted to see how it was routed.

The red arrow end goes on the ps pump and wraps around the back between the pump and the cylinder head, and the blue end goes to the steering box. You will most likely have a little bit of slack when using this hose and it may come into contact with the ps pulley, but most of us just zip tie the ps pressure hose to the reservoir hose to keep it away from the ps pulley. I'm pretty sure just about everyone else is using this hose unless they went with braided lines and AN fittings.

I tried it a few times, doesnt seem to work in any configuration.

I'm running the stock 2001 Trans Am power steering pressure line. Not sure if the car had the optional PS cooler or not, but it bolted right up to my '88 steering box.Originally Posted by bigals87z28

Why doesnt it work? It uses the same 16mm x 1.5 O-ring fitting as your stock PS pump did. Just thread it in there and bend it back slightly to clear the pulley
Should look like this

Heres an updated set from my 5.3/4L60E/M90 swap. Still need to ditch the stock overflow tank

Here's a pic of mine. It's a 2001 LS1 with the SW headers and a BW S475. I will be running it on E85, that's why I'm not running an intercooler.

Can you not use a power steering pump with those headers?
Senior Member
I assume not by the looks of it, but his looks to be a race car anyways judging by the motor plate. Why, you're not considering TWO turbo's are you Nick? lol

Depends... I do like those headers though.

trailblazer ss, is BEAST btw, my father and uncle both have silver ones. ls2 powered with awd. my father pulled away from me, towing a car loaded trailer. I was driving my 08 civic si, which is a nice car stock. at 197hp for the little 2.0 liter 4banger it had. I didn't think he could, but her surely did!! this is why I am going to whip both of their asses when I drop my ls3 in the birdOriginally Posted by Pocket
Compared to the uber common truck blocks they are. All cars equipped with the LS engine got an aluminum block along with some top level trucks such as the SSR and trailblazer SS
