Here was my friend Shawn's '88 GTA w/LS1 swap. He unfortunately sold it, but may be buying it right back though, Click Here, Click Here, and Click Here....

I wondered how long it would take someone to catch on.
Yeah, I thought I'd have it done a year ago. So many reasons (read: excuses) that hasn't happened. But, I'm making progress. I have the A-arms back mounted up with the V6 springs, brake lines rerouted and mounted (still need to bend a new one on the driver's side front - basically a piece of universal brake line had been put on, cut at the wheel end, and almost reflared
), quick ratio steering box installed. Want to hook up the line lock before I fill up the engine bay.
The engine bay is going to stay car color. I set the new black swap mounts on the nearly paintless crossmember and didn't think that looked too good. So, I grabbed a can of black spray paint I had sitting around and gave it a couple of quick coats before I bolted them on. This is not intended in any way to be a show car, but even I yield to form every once in awhile.
I'm keeping AC. You can see what's going on there in the "another lsx swap ac bracket" thread.
Still trying to decide if I'm going to try to mount the PCM in the passenger compartment or engine bay.

A little over a year later (and a little over 2 years since the 305/TH200C came out):
Engine bay mostly finished. Left to do: Install radiator, radiator hoses, cooling fans (wiring done), connect PS cooler/lines, install air inlet/MAF/IAT/filter. And run the line lock wiring. AC will be done after the car is on the road.

Passenger side. Can you see the PCM harness? I think I need to do something with the heater hoses.

AC Compressor (notched stock K-member).

Driver side.

Rear driver side corner of the engine compartment. I thought this was a good place for the clutch MC reservoir.

Battery cable buss bar and aftermarket swap fuse-relay box. The air filter will sit right above here.

Re: Post pics of LSX swap third gens
it looks good but awful pricey. Im gonna make my own unless i can find a cheap used one
Re: Post pics of LSX swap third gens
Read over my swap thread. A pieced together intake is still up there in price. The price for the composite tract and K&N filter with the necessary fittings isnt that unreasonable

Does anyone have a good link to the history of the Gen III engines? I'm thinking about a swap this winter
I'm guessing only the Corvettes had the all aluminum engine?

Compared to the uber common truck blocks they are. All cars equipped with the LS engine got an aluminum block along with some top level trucks such as the SSR and trailblazer SS

New set up I built this year, 6L, GT42-76mm turbo, manifold kit, rossler TH400, bigger DS, minitub, sits on 315/60/15s, narrowed 12bolt, anti roll bar, rod ended suspention all adjustable. Quick test at the track so far, and ran 11.07 @ 122 on a 1.52 60ft, 6lbs pump gas, 4.11s currently and out of gear at the 1000ft.
