LS7 lifters???
Well I finally bagged a new set of Mamo ported AFR's to go with my Mamo ported FAST and 90mm TB. I also have new 36lb injectors, an 85mm MAF, ported LS6 pump, ect.
I am in the process of getting the last little things together so I can install this stuff. I think I have everything except for head gaskets, head bolts and lifters.
I was wondering if anyone has used LS7 lifters or if there was something better out there. My cam is smaller and has a lower lift (228/228 .571/.571). Any suggestions or preferences on lifters or does it not matter too much on an application like this?

Re: LS7 lifters???
LS7 lifters are the new 'stock replacement' lifters for the LTx and LSx engines, if you go to GM. They are a pretty good lifter, I don't know of anything better. Never heard anything bad about them. Though if yours are in good shape, you probably won't gain anything by changing to the LS7 stuff.

I re-used the stockers with no problems but I see lots of guys running the Cadillac Racing lifters whatever those are ( same as LS7? ) I have no idea but they are popular and cheap. If i swap cams again I will replace the lifters just for safety sake. No complaints here though

Re: LS7 lifters???
Yeah, I bought a set of the Caddy CTS-V racing lifters, before I ended up buying the VVT engine. Now I'm thinking that they probably won't be compatible, so I should decide what I'm going to do with 'em...

Re: LS7 lifters???
It looks like I will have a 228 cam for sale. Mine has lazy lobes which are great for stockish heads with PAC springs or 918's ext but for my application I will benefit from a quicker ramp rate and a higher LSA.
I was currently running a CC 228/228 at 571/571 on a 112+2 lsa but by goingto a more aggresive ramp rate and a higher lsa I will build more HP and TQ as well have more PTV clearance on the 114 lsa.
Should be a fun spring
