1984 LS1 4L60e swap
Hey guys, I am an '84 Trans Am and I just purchased an LS1 and a 4L60e transmission, all of the acessories, comp and harness! im excited and cant wait for it to ship, I have a load a questions, I know that ill need to order motor mounds and a Transmission crossmember, but is there anything else that is necessairy to change, i hear that the radiator needs to be changed, is there a way to make due with the original? Also, before it is shipped, he is able to change the Computer for me, so im going to take advantage of that, so i need to know what is the standard size wheel on the 84 TA and does anyone know the gear ratio, i've heard both 3.23 and 3.42, its the 5.0L TA with the auto trans... also, does anyone have any suggestions as to what else i should have him modify before he ships it?
Thanks, Jake

depending on how much he tweaks the computer, and the rules in your area on emissions, he could depress the codes thrown for A.I.R. or egr, any sensors you wont be running (oil level), etc... not a big deal either way, but its annoying to check codes on a perfectly fine motor and have it return 17 errors (aka mine). he could also throw your VIN on the computer if they're strict about that kind of deal as well. He should also be able to have your fans activate at a lower temp.
also the radiator problem is that you need a hose end to the radiator that isnt under pressure for the steamtubes on the top of the engine.
