just a few questions concerning LQ4 and LS1 parts interchangability
For those who swapped LQ4's into their cars, what starter did you use? Will the truck starter work or do you have to have an Fbody one?
Concerning the intake, from my understanding the truck throttle body will work with an LS1 intake manifold correct? And so then what mass air flow sensor do you need to use?

Mass Air Flow sensor depends on which harness and pcm you are using (or if you're willing to rewire a bit and have your pcm tuned). Most trucks came with the 5 wire maf, and the f-bodies came with the 3 wire. The 2 extra wires on the truck maf are due to the integrated intake air temp sensor. There are conversion wiring pigtails for this very purpose if you want to swap between the two (I've got a 5 wire maf and pigtail and will probably end up using the f-body maf...go figure).

I used a starter that was meant to fit a '02 Silverado. Fit like a glove, and was small to boot. F-body starter will fit perfectly, LS1,2,6,7, and all 99-07 truck engines use the same starter bolt spacing and angle. The Vette's got a shorter bolt on the inside bolt for the starter, basically casting is shorter, it will still fit however.
The truck TB will bolt up, i know its not quite as agressive a cable lobe as the f-body, but it will work!
As for a MAF, the truck harness used a 5pin "LS6" MAF, their 85mm, black plastic and have the IAT built into them. They flow better too. The stock f-body had a 75mm one IIRC. Its got 3 pin plug to the MAF and a 2pin to the IAT. Silver with 2 cast aluminum peices on each side.

Hmmm well that's good to know I can use the starter from my block.
