O2 wiring help needed...

Diagram...

So the tan O2 low reference wires all converge into one and then branch out to the separate O2s. Does this mean if I'm striping the rear O2s out of the harness I can just pull those pins completely out of the pcm or does those pins need some sort of signal/resistance? Do I need to connect all the wires together or can I just run a separate wire to each of the O2s?

TIA

Hmm I didnt previously know about that convergence issue or I may have been more hesitant to do what I did... But the good news is what I did worked fine. Three seasons now and no issues.

All I did was cut the rear O2 harness leads off and taped them into the rest of the harness in the rear of the trans area in a way so they wouldn't contact another wire or the chassis. I dont mind dragging around a few ounces of extra wire and this was fast and clean. My tuner just tuned the two rear O2's out and all functions as it should.

You're a wild man, cam-...

Seriously, I'm glad to hear that - makes my job just a little bit easier. And since we're on the subject, I'm fairly sure that I've ID'd the pre- and post-cat O2 sensor connectors, but the answer to this question will let me know for sure -

Is the connector for the pre-cat sensor able to plug into the connector for the post-cat sensor?? (IOW, are the connectors for the front O2s male, & the connectors for the rear O2s female {or vice-versa}?)

I know that probably sounds a little bit crazy, but I'm still trying to figure out as much as I'm able to without a manual - once I get absolutely stumped, I'll sign up for the AllDataDIY stuff (since I'd like to have it available to me for a little while during the break-in period)...

I appreciate any help, & I'm hoping that this doesn't qualify as 'jacking the thread...

EDIT - I can post pictures (maybe as soon as tomorrow) if it'll help / if what I'm asking isn't clear...

Well the weird thing is the harness I have is from an '02. And all the wire colors are different than '01s and '03s. Not only that but there were two different styles of O2 wiring used in that year. This one where they all converge together and another one that they're all separate. Makes it FUUUUN.

On *MY* harness they were the same connector front and rear and from what I remember that's same for most of the 00-06 trucks I've sold o2s for at the shop (they show the same part number for all 4 for most of the trucks). What year is your harness from? I can double check tomorrow when I go in.

And what the crap do you think you're doing jacking my thread?! FYI; if you need some Nodata, err ALLDATA diagrams or even ServiceInformation (the program that our GM techs use) diagrams let me know and I'll send 'em your way.

I'm going to go ahead and yank the rear o2 wires out of the pcm and connect the other three and run two out to the o2s and see what happens. After this little bit is done, I have the fusebox to do, run a battery cable from the rear passanger seat, find a PS pump/bracket and I can fire it off.

The engine's an '08 L92 - from the Yukon/Escalade/Tahoe/Denali line.

Good luck, hopefully it'll be totally uneventful - except for the sound of it firing!

BTW - I'll be sending you a PM in a couple of minutes...

Well thankfully that'll be ungodly loud with the side dump exhaust.

Same is in what? They all converge? They all stay separate?
