3/8 or 5/16ths Flanges for turbo headers?

I'm gonna start a turbo build here in the next few months. I was curious about flanges. Everyone has 3/8th flanges... I have seen a few 5/16ths... Is 1/16th really worht it? Will that really help it from warping? Figuered it would make for a good discusion.. Thanks

Ive never had an issue with any size flange, even the 1/4" flange

Of course I cut it in between the primaries so each expands/contracts individually

The only gasket Ive blown out was from a severe bottoming out

Thats a good idea to cut them! If you think about it 3/8 is 6/16ths... So it just a sixteenth thicker.. But again i'm going to have the turbo suspended on that header..So I dunno!

thicker is always better. I've seen buildups with 1/2" flanges on them when the turbo is being supported by the heads. No reason you can't drop down a support bracket onto the accessory bolt holes in the head if you wanted to go that route.
