I'm asking to me if my setup will work...

I will have a LT1 1995 in my Camaro 1985 and I have seen that the flywheel that I received with the engine (it was in a camaro 1980 with a muncie transmission)so, the flywheel in the old setup for camaro 1980 is 1.700'' of wide and my old flywheel in my original setup (camaro 1985 with T5 Borg Warner) have 1.175''...

I think that I will have problem with this...my bell housing bolt there without problem, but I don't know if the clutch will work properly when installed.

What do you think about it? Do you ever see that?

Sounds like the old two piece seal vs one piece seal issue. IIRC it was in 84 when GM began using a one piece rear main seal on the crank to help avoid leaks. The down side is that they also changed the bolt pattern and balance of the flywheels to suit so you may need a different flywheel. This should help get you going in the right direction

 

Thanks cam- The real problem is the thickness of flywheel. The bolt patern is ok, because it bolt directly there without issue. The real problem is when I put the bell housing and after my transmission, the transmission don't go at the rigth place... at the bottom of the correct position... I hope you understand what I mean...

So, the previous owner of this setup have bough a flywheel because the original one for muncie don't fit.

I removing the original flywheel on my previous engine (350 1977). I will check with is really the différence of thickness at installed state... if I can, as per your comments, that will be impossible.

So, yes the old flywheel don't fit, specificly for the bolt patern... I have really a problem...

What I have to do?
1- machinning the flywheel 1.700'' to 1.250''... as per my measurement, I can easely remove 0.218'' of material... but it's not 0.500'' like what I need.
2- but a new flywheel making for this swap... that existe??

I find precious information... I need flywheel from thirdgen 1987 to 1992 with original T5 equiped.

The bolt patern will fit and the thickness wil be the same that my usual flywheel.

Now, I'm searching this flywheel... I think this one from 4.3 engine will fit... I'm not sûre...
